Welcome back to our Weekly Trend Report! This is definitely a trend we can carry from summer into the tricky transition season, keeping those summery pastels alive as the days get darker. We’ve dubbed it the “Princess Diaries.”
So, what’s in this trend? Think tweed mini dresses and boxy jackets, pearls, statement accessories, and embroidered cardigans, all bringing your inner princess firmly into the modern day.
Let’s start easy. As it cools down, you’re probably after a fresh layer to keep warm. The key to elevating this trend is fit and structure. We love the boxy, cropped tweed jackets on our Pinterest board. They pair perfectly with jeans or add polish to wide-leg workwear trousers.
Not a jacket person? No problem. You can get a similar effect from a cardigan, skip the V-neck and opt for a rounded button-up style, preferably with pearl buttons for extra points.
